like coming home
One car ride, three flights, a train journey and a taxi ride later...I made it to the Bodes around 12:30 on Saturday afternoon, with myself and all my luggage intact, except for the bag of Reeces Pieces which had split open in transit and were scattered throughout my suitcase (but the precious gems of peanut buttery American treat would not be wasted..we dusted them off and ate them anyway!). And I was quite tired, but cheerful...no, I was deeply pleased to be back in Sheffield. The past 33 hours have been spent in wonder that I'm even here (I woke up this morning from deep sleep and thought..."whoaaaaaaaaa! I'm in England." It was like I went to sleep and then woke up in England!)
But the best part is the people, my Crowded House family (TCH). It's so great to be in a place where it's so easy to feel like I belong. My usual intense and deep-thinking mind is matched and bolstered among these people. Conversations are deeply meaningful and about real-life stuff, Gospel stuff...and I love it! It's like coming home.
I especially love singing together...there's nothing quite like a group of people gathered in a house singing from the depths of their hearts, in worship of our God. This morning I visited TCH Sharrow congregation and counted that among the 14 people gathered, there were 7 different nationalities (British, Australian, Pakistani, Irish, Kurdish, Russian, American)! A-mazing! This evening, at TCH Abbey congregation, we were in the midst of singing, windows wide open, and a neighbor walked up to the window and said she heard the music and wondered if she could come in and join us. A-Mazing!
Tomorrow I'm hoping to go for a long hike in the Peak District. Then a busy week running to Spain, London and other random, exciting things and meeting up with people. So, until lata, cheerio mates...check out a couple of photos I've posted. See my pictures site

Great to hear from you and to know you are amoung great minds that resonate with yours. :) Good pics, too.
Very sad day when both England and Brazil get eliminated. I wish I was traveling around Europe to help me get over it. Have a fun trip, doubt that will be a problem. South Africa 2010!
Faith, it was great to meet you in Sheffield. We just returned to South Wales after spending five days in the Chester's home, attending Matt & Rachel's wedding this past Saturday. It was a wonderful testimony to the TCH community and the Lord Jesus Christ! Hope you're doing well!
