it's not ring around the rosie
Yesterday, my nephew Dustin turned 6. His parents got him a trampoline for his birthday, and on Friday we were setting it up. My other nephew Darren and I had to test it out so we were jumping and laughing. I tried to hang onto his hands and jump, but he retorted with a classic kid line:"You don't hold hands. This isn't ring around the rosie. It's a trampoline!"
I laughed heartily.
I love hanging out with my nephews (especially when they're in good moods, but even sometimes when they're not). We just have so much fun together, and I always get a good laugh. Kid laughs...deep from the gut, true, pure enjoyment, spontaneous laughter at life's pleasures...
Jumping on the tramp, playing chase, ball fights in the basement, cuddling to watch a movie, watching the antics of my third nephew Zach, who is just 7 months old - kid stuff. It's great. Makes me feel young and free again. Makes my heart glad.

And they love playing with their Aunt Faith, too! And Mom and Dad enjoy the break. Jump, jump, jump. Wear them out!
