I don't claim to be great, but my desire is to live well right where God has me today. It's been easy to deceive myself into thinking greatness is something "out there" that I define and pursue, when in reality greatness happens right here through living and loving well and looking back to see how great God has been to work through me in spite of myself.
Resting, Breathing, Enjoying Life, Loving Others, Being Fully Alive and Full of Joy, Having an Abundant Life, Making Space to Listen to God's Voice, Bringing Glory to Him by Enjoying Him - YES - These are my aim and pleasure!
Traveling, culture, change, communicating, being out-of-the-box - these things, though I'm passionate for them, pale in comparison to the ONE THING I desire to be about.

I think that outlook on life is essential to our developing as Christians. Lukewarmness has no place in the Body of Christ, because the TRUE Gospel penetrates our very being. We cannot merely die to Sunday morning fun to sacrificially sit through a half-hour sermon. Instead, we must die to our desires, take up our cross day after day after day, and follow the Lord.
