september again
along Abbeydale Rd in Sheffield, England(totally swiped this pic from Andy's blog! Thanks! love it!)
friday night we had massive thunderstorms that brought in a terrible cold front...dropping temps from 75F to about 50F (25C to 10C)...it's been rainy, cold and dreary ever since... overnight it turned from summer to autumn...ushering in that common feeling i get about this time of year...that sensation that this weather is familiar to my senses...and i close my eyes, take a deep breath and listen...hoping that when i open my eyes it won't look like grand rapids but sheffield...while others covered their heads with their coats, complained and tried to get out of the rain, I turned my face upwards and smiled... there's something about september and the change of seasons that makes me think of that place over the ocean... and a warmth and a chill come over me.
