Where I really thrive

Sometimes there are activities and things in life that really make you come alive, that stir up something deep and real, that send thrills throughout your being, that cause you to really thrive.

Well that's been me the past six nights as the Summer in the City team have put on jazz cafes. It's amazing to observe the change in myself...I can be groggy and tired and self-focused all day long and then the cafe starts and suddenly I come alive, forget myself and engage in intentional, fun, real conversations with people. Love it!

That's how I'd sum up this entire time...meaningful conversations. With old friends and new, with those who know Christ and those who are searching and those rejecting Him, with children and adults and peers, with internationals and immigrants and a host of varieties of accents. And how amazingly easy to talk about Christ, about being a Christian and my love for the Lord, and how the Gospel really impacts all of my life.

It's all winding down now...one more group prayer time tomorrow morning and church and a meal together, then some more farewells...thus the pattern of my life has become, farewelling those dear to my heart. Will post more thoughts and photos soon...must get to sleep now. Until lata...cheers...
