to the finish

5th/3rd Riverbank 5K Run
Final Chip Time: 26:23 min
Total pace: 8:30/mile
905th (out of 3798 runners)

amazing experience. unbelievably challenging. fantastically rewarding. deeply meaningful.

About half way through I was really feeling the strain, but from then on what went through my mind was Scripture about running, races, and the Lord being my strength...saw such parallels of the race I ran and my spiritual lifelong race toward Christ. I knew I couldn't quit, didn't want to, had to keep running, keep reminding myself. Hebrews 12 was rolling around the most. And when the finish line came into view, I thought of Christ...the author and finisher of my faith...and I ran harder to the end, was just focused on that goal, that finish, and it was overwhelming. Oh to run harder and finish well!

Awesome job, Faith! I can't believe how fast your time was, since this was your first race. Hopefully you were able to finish before the rain started. Are you ready to sign up for next year yet?
